World War II bomb in Dresden defused after city centre evacuation of 18,000 people

A 250kg British bomb was found on March 10, during work in the centre of Dresden to rebuild a bridge over the River Elbe that collapsed in 2024. Dresden was heavily bombed by the Allies in 1945.

Sisters' Island, which was the last landmark and final part of Singapore evacuees would ever see before escaping to the open seas, as seen from a boat ride during the preview of Passages at Last Light: Singapore's WWII Maritime Evacuation Routes tour in the southern waters of Singapore on Feb 9, 2026.
