SINGAPORE – Try your hand at weaving paper strips into a “ketupat” – a traditional Malay rice dumpling wrapped in intricately folded palm leaves – with step-by-step instructions in The Straits Times’ activity page this weekend.
The March edition features a Hari Raya Puasa-themed colouring section, alongside an information snippet on the Thai festival Songkran, which is held in April.
Published on the last Sunday of each month in the Life! section, the page offers a mix of hands-on fun and learning, from maze puzzles to word searches to news-inspired snippets.
In this edition, read about measles, which has seen a notable rise in Singapore earlier in 2026 compared with the past few years.
The activity page is part of ST’s series on managing screen time, which started on Jan 25. The series aims to journey with families as they raise children and navigate struggles in an increasingly digital world.
