SINGAPORE - Two-thirds of children aged seven to nine in Singapore use smartphones every day, and are active on social media. More than 40 per cent of them have their own Facebook accounts, while a quarter are on Instagram.

This spurs concerns, including about who these lower-primary school children meet online. About a third of parents in a survey commissioned by The Straits Times say they do not know who their children interact with on social media.
