The recent Central Provident Fund (CPF) changes for 2025 have left many Singaporeans, particularly seniors, those who are not financially savvy and new CPF contributors, struggling to understand how they can benefit from them.

Despite the wealth of information available, the complexity of the updates and the lack of tailored guidance have led to confusion, and some members are turning to costly private consultations.

I suggest the Government develop a CPF-specific advisory service, built on top of a large language model like ChatGPT, designed for this vertical domain.

An artificial intelligence-powered service could provide fast, personalised, easy-to-understand advice based on each individual’s CPF profile, age and financial needs. It would offer a more accessible, cost-effective and multilingual alternative to cumbersome phone consultations.

Such a service would ensure that all CPF members, regardless of their tech or financial skills, can access timely, relevant guidance and make informed decisions without incurring unnecessary costs.
