- Malaysia Airlines Flight MH386 was forced to turn back to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on the night of Aug 20 due to a possible cabin pressure issue.

The Shanghai-bound flight experienced issues shortly after departing from KLIA Terminal 1 at 9.14pm, reported Astro Awani.

FlightRadar showed that the plane, an Airbus A330-300, declared a general emergency soon after take-off. It descended to 3,048m, indicating a possible cabin pressure problem, before landing safely at KLIA after 70 minutes in the air.

The incident comes after a Malaysia Airlines flight from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur was

diverted to Alice Springs Airport in Australia’s Northern Territory

due to a technical issue on Aug 19.

Australian media SBS News reported that a passenger of Flight MH128 said that they felt “a low vibration” before the captain announced that the engine “had stalled” and they would need to circle for two hours to burn fuel before landing at the airport.

Another passenger took to Facebook to share his experience, claiming that he saw the aircraft’s engine on fire.

The plane landed safely in Alice Springs at 4.35am local time. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
