Man shot dead by police in China after he rams forklift into cars, injuring more than 10 people

BEIJING (CHINA DAILY/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - One person was killed and more than 10 were injured when a man rammed a forklift against a bus station in Yantai, Shandong province, on Monday (June 25).

The driver of the forklift was shot dead on the spot after police tried to stop him but failed.

The incident took place at 7.20am in Xingfu Zhonglu, Zhifu district of Yantai.

The suspect Wang Zhihua, 45, is from Suihua, Heilongjiang province. Police are investigating the case.

In a video posted on The Beijing News, the forklift is seen ramming into a car and carrying it as it continues crashing into more vehicles on the road.

At least one passer-by was seen trying to stop the man by throwing bricks at the forklift, but to no avail.
