TOKYO – The heat has been raised on Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida after a district that was long a stronghold of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) fell to the main opposition party in by-elections on April 28.
This is as the Japanese leader, beset by a damaging slush fund scandal and a tanking economy, is running out of time to salvage his leadership, warned political watchers.
