WASHINGTON - Testimony from the first two days of public impeachment hearings this week have made it more likely that the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives will impeach President Donald Trump, said analysts.

But, based on the resolute defence of the President mounted by his Republican allies in the House, the question of whether the Republican-majority Senate will then vote to remove him from office after a trial - the next step after an impeachment - is still up in the air.
