Come January, Qatar will officially exit the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec), becoming only the second member after Indonesia to do so since the bloc was formed in 1960.
And while there have been multiple theories about why Qatar made the sudden move to leave an organisation it has been a member of for 57 years, most agree on one point: its decision has very little to do with oil and gas.
