Too X-pensive? Not for Apple fans

An average Singaporean needs to spend more than one quarter of his income to buy the iPhone XS, which costs $1,649, given that the Singaporean's median monthly gross wage is $4,232, according to the Ministry of Manpower.

The iPhone XS is one of a trio of new phones launched by Apple last week. The other two are the iPhone XS Max, which starts at $1,799; and the "budget" iPhone XR, which starts at $1,229.
