Singapore Athletics 'contrite' after criticism over poor outing, infighting

Singapore Athletics (SA) has expressed contrition after it was the target of stern criticism over the state of the local sport, which resulted in a dismal performance at the recent SEA Games in the Philippines.

In a statement to The Straits Times late last night, SA president Tang Weng Fei said: "This is a wake-up call to all stakeholders of athletics in Singapore to stop all distractions other than promoting our beloved sport.
