Formula One weekend in Singapore: 10 party pit stops to check out

The 2015 Formula OneSingapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix will rev into town on Sept 18. There are no fewer than 15 F1-themed parties this year. Life Weekend rounds up 10 party pit stops

Podium Lounge

The glamorous ultra-lounge hosts one of the ritziest parties in town during F1. Here, partygoers get to rub shoulders with F1 drivers and celebrities.

Actor Kristian Nairn, who plays the dopey and loveable Hodor in hit TV series Game Of Thrones, will show off his deejaying skills as one of the headline music acts.

Watch models sashay down the catwalk in fashion shows by local online designer marketplace Covetella, bid for rare F1 memorabilia in a live auction and check out a pop-up art exhibition by Galeries Bartoux featuring works by the likes of Andy Warhol.

Sky-High Pit Stop at 1-Altitude

Besides a panaromic view of Singapore's skyline, the three-tier nightspot that sits atop One Raffles Place also offers one of the best views of the race track from 282m.

The Altimate Circuit Party, in association with Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, takes place on Sept 18. On Sept 19, guests can sample cocktails at stations set up by Grey Goose & Martini, Moet Ice Imperial, Hibiki and Red Bull at the 1-Altitude rooftop.

Mambo Jambo By Zouk

Zouk Singapore's iconic Mambo Jambo night makes a comeback at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Fans of the once-regular dance affair will get to boogie to Top 40 hits from the 1970s to the 1990s spun by Zouk resident DJs Andrew Tang, djB and Jeremy Boon on the Mambo Stage set up within the F1 street circuit.

Night Race Weekend At Ce La Vi

Kick off your day with Ce La Vi's (above) Sky High Brunch, a buffet of oysters, foie gras and caviar and champagne.

As you feast, be entertained by Spanish maestro Jose Padilla, famed for his work with beach club Cafe Del Marin Ibiza.

When night falls, soak up the electrifying F1 atmosphere with a bird's eye view from the club lounge, where international DJs Samantha Ronson and DJ Cassidy will helm the decks on Sept 18 and 20 respectively.

On Sept 19, Ce La Vi hosts the legendary Official Martini Racing Party featuring local guest DJ Andrew T.

Road To Ultra

Superstar DJs Skrillex, Nicky Romero and Alesso will be in town for the Singapore debut of Road To Ultra, one of the biggest dance music parties in the world. The trio will be supported by American house DJs Mija and Ansolo (the DJ alter ego of actor Ansel Elgort).

When: Sept 19, 8pm to 4am

Grand Prix Season Singapore Pub Crawl

If you are into bar hopping, you can sign up for Singapore Pub Crawl's event. For four nights during this and next weekend, it will take you to four bars and one club.

To keep the suspense, the locations will not be revealed until the night itself, though partygoers can expect to enjoy complimentary shots and VIP entry into clubs.

Singapore Race Weekend At Bang Bang

For $45, you can party right next to the F1 street circuit at nightclub Bang Bang, where three international acts - up-and-coming DJs Ruckus and Jesse Marco and EDM vocalist-songwriter Amba Shepherd - will raise the roof on each of the F1 weekend's three nights.

Haji Lane Street Party: F1 Edition

If swanky blowouts are not your thing, make a trip down to hipster enclave Haji Lane, where a party organised by Mexican restaurant-bar Piedra Negra will take over the street.

Revellers can dance to a mix of 1990s R&B, funk, hip-hop and reggae music as the restaurant puts its DJ decks out on the street.

Drinks start from $5 for a tequila shot and $10 for a glass of margarita or wine.

Splash & Dash At W Singapore - Sentosa Cove

Slip on your swimsuit and take a dip at W Singapore's first F1 pool party. Groove to the thumping beats of Grammy Award-winning British electronic artists Dirty Vegas or take a selfie with the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4, which will be making a pit stop at the party.

Boudoir Noire Presents The Box

Boudoir Noire is the newest event on the F1 party calendar, featuring the debut of New York's famed nightspot The Box, known for its raunchy theatrical acts that are Cirque du Soleil meets burlesque meets cabaret.

The headline act is Sukki Singapora, Singapore's first burlesque performer.

Where: Capitol Theatre, 17 Stamford Road

When: Sept 19 and 20, 10pm till late
