SINGAPORE - Singapore's Nur Syahidah Alim won the gold medal in the women's individual compound open final of the Asean Para Games (APG) on Thursday (Sept 21).

She defeated Malaysia's Nor Sa'adah Abdul Wahab 140-132 at the KL Sports City while Thailand's R. Katemongkon took bronze.

The 32-year-old, who was born with cerebral palsy, clinched Singapore's first individual and team archery golds on home soil at the last Games in 2015.

She took time off work at Sport Singapore to focus on training full-time, and has her sights set on making it to the Paralympic Games in 2020.
