Car overturns in accident, 79-year-old driver taken to hospital

SINGAPORE - A 79-year-old woman was taken to hospital after the car she was driving overturned in an accident in Holland Road.

Photos circulating online show the silver vehicle lying upside down on the road on Friday (May 25).

The police said they were alerted to the accident, involving a single car, at 1.34pm. It occurred in Holland Road towards Queensway, after Tan Boon Chong Avenue.

"The car driver, a 79-year-old woman, was conscious when taken to National University Hospital," said the police spokesman.

The Straits Times understands that she had skidded and lost control of the vehicle.

Police investigations are ongoing.
