Dynasty Travel has a new itinerary to Norway and Sweden so travellers can chase the Northern Lights this winter.

The 12-day, nine-night package takes guests from Oslo to Stockholm, stopping in Arctic towns including Tromso, Honningsvag and Kiruna along the way.

Highlights include tours of both cities, a chance to explore a viking ship museum, ride in a husky sledge, visit the Aurora Sky Station and the world's oldest ice hotel, spend two nights on board a cruise and learn about Sami culture in Lapland.

LUXURY SLEEPER TRAIN FOR SOUTH AMERICA

Hotel company Belmond has announced the arrival of South America's first luxury sleeper train, the Belmond Andean Explorer, in May next year.

The train will travel on one- and two-night journeys along one of the highest rail routes in the world, traversing the Peruvian Andes from Cusco to Lake Titicaca and Peru's colonial-era capital Arequipa.

There will be four journeys to choose from. Prices start from US$462 (S$620) a person for the one-night Spirit Of The Andes journey, inclusive of all meals, an open bar and scheduled excursions.

This will be Belmond's eighth luxury train and it complements the day trips between Cusco and Machu Picchu by the Belmond Hiram Bingham train in Peru.

A new programme of activities for children aged four to 17 will include art and craft, beach volleyball, kayaking, snorkelling, sailing, dance shows, clown hunts and sandcastle challenges.
