Asia tech giants see silver lining despite rocky year of job cuts, falling stocks and losses

SINGAPORE - The clouds may be clearing for Asia’s technology giants after a tumultuous year of massive job cuts and plummeting share prices.

Most have reported third-quarter earnings that beat or were in line with expectations, an indication that reining in costs may be starting to pay off, said analysts, although they also warned there are more twists and turns ahead.
