Japanese farmers, carmakers alarmed at trade deal

United States President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe might have hailed their early trade deal as a win-win for both sides, but Japanese farmers and automakers have reacted with alarm.

Economists also wonder if Japan has given away too much, too soon, through the numerous concessions to open up its agricultural sector, without winning any written pledges from Washington on the auto sector.
