HONG KONG - As the city braces itself for the 11th consecutive weekend of protests amid growing doubts about the future of the "one country, two systems" principle, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen is being viewed as the only winner to emerge from the unrest in Hong Kong.

In late July, an article in the Hong Kong Economic Journal suggested as much although some political observers believe the greater danger is that there will be no winners at all.
